Welcome to 1RG
Hello. My name is Mrs Grainger. I've been teaching at Stockwell now for five years and have been based in year 1 for the duration of this time. Year one is a truly magnificent year for your child. Is is the beginning of your child's learning on the National Curriculum and therefore, as you can imagine, the days are packed full of lots of exciting learning.
We are lucky to have Miss Jackson in class with us full time and together we can meet the needs of all of our classroom needs and enjoy our learning together.
Please read the below information to help support your child's learning in our classroom:
Physical Education:
Children must come dressed in their P.E. Kits on a Tuesday.
Uniform for physical education is; a plain white T-shirt , black shorts/ leggings/ joggers, trainers or pumps.
No jewellery is allowed to be worn.
Seesaw:
We use Seesaw to correspond with parents, set tasks/ homework where appropriate.Parental involvement in the app is paramount to making it a successful tool for learning and communication.
Reading:
Please remember the value we place on reading at our school. We want to encourage children to have a love of stories and books and of reading themselves. We can track any books read by using the new Go Read/ Boom Reader app. Children will continue to bring back a reading book each week (appropriate for their phonetic ability) and we ask you record any reading at home using the app.
