Welcome to Miss Kirtley's Class
Hi, I’m Miss Kirtley, one of the Year 2 teachers. I’ve been very excited to welcome the children back to school after our long break and I’m looking forward to getting to know everyone better.
We’ve got lots of activities planned to make sure that the transition back into school is as smooth and enjoyable for everyone as possible.
Our class Seesaw page is up and running so if you have any questions or concerns, please send me a message through Seesaw. I will also use Seesaw to send important messages and posting updates so you can see what your child has been getting up to in school.
If you’re having trouble accessing Seesaw, please catch me after school and I can help you get it set up.
For the time being, our PE day is on a Tuesday so please send your child to school on this day in their PE kit (white top, black leggings/shorts/joggers and trainers). When possible, PE will be done outside so please ensure your child has enough layers to be warm enough during their PE lesson.
Each morning we have a maths lesson, a writing lesson and a phonics lesson. As well as guided reading three times a week.
For our Autumn term topic, Year 2 will be learning all about the Victorians. These lessons have been planned based on the questions the children had about life in the Victorian times. During our topic lessons, we will be learning skills to help us become better historians, geographers and artists.
We also have lessons in science, RE, IT, DT, music, PE and PSHE, which are related to our topic when appropriate.
