Hi everyone! We are finally all back at school again and we can’t wait to get stuck in to the summer term! One big push for our class this term will be attendance, we need everyone to be in, on time and not missing out on all the exciting things that we have planned! We still need to keep Covid restrictions in mind and we must follow the guidelines from the government.
PE and outdoor learning
P.E. ALL children MUST come to school in their kit (white T-Shirt and black shorts/leggings or joggers.) Children with long hair are expected to have it tied back and NO jewellery to be worn.
Our PE slot will take place on both a Wednesday and a Friday. These slots will only be one hour each so children are getting the 2 hours they are entitled to.
Forest School/Outdoor learning – This will continue on Wednesday mornings. Please make sure your child has a change of shoes/welly boots and trousers in school for any outdoor learning we partake in. We are out in all weathers except high winds and thunderstorms.
Please remember the value we place on reading. It is brilliant to see the children who have brought in their reading books to be changed and to hear about how much they enjoyed the story! We would like each child to read for 30 minutes per day, but you are welcome to do more! Books will be changed on a Tuesday and Friday. The books that are returned are put away for 3 days to ensure we are not passing any opportunity for COVID to be transferred. As the Reading Reward Cards are not coming home, please feel free to message us via Seesaw and advise us of reading done at home so that we can add the reward stamps onto their Reading Reward Cards.
This term in our Topic work, we are continuing to learn about Buildings around the World although we will be focusing more on the geography element of it. There are many fascinating places around the world, and they have risen and fallen throughout history. We will be looking at where these places are and why they existed in the first place, which links with our previous history lessons of continuity and change. In Science, we will be looking at Electricity and circuits which should spark an interest in some of our budding electricians and engineers!
The children will continue learn to play a range of music genres on the glockenspiels, taught by the talented Miss Hunt from the Hull Music Service.
If your child has to stay home due to parents or themselves displaying symptoms children need to stay home until a negative test result. If a positive test result children must stay home and self-isolate for 2 weeks. If a negative result comes through, we must see evidence of this at the office so we can allow your child back in the building. If your child is learning online, the daily work should be completed and sent back on the same day as sending please! If your child has a paper pack, each day's work should be done each, but try to keep your child in a routine and allow time for breaks and fresh air.
If you have any worries or concerns, please contact me or Mrs Bowers on SeeSaw or via Teams.
