Welcome to our Year 6 Class

This is a Year 6 class. We try to be very friendly and respect each other.

We have a session of Literacy and Maths every day. In the afternoons we have one afternoon of PE per week, and a session of Computing every week. We also learn about our current topic which includes the Foundation Subjects: history, music, geography, science, religious education and PHSE (social and emotional aspects of learning and personal, health and social education), art and design and design technology.

For more information on our current topic see the curriculum area.

We have PE every Friday so please bring your PE kit into school every Monday.  PE kit should include black shorts and a plain white t-shirt for indoor PE and tracksuit bottoms, jumper/jacket and suitable shoes/trainers for outdoor games.

We hear readers and change books on a regular basis. The children are asked to complete a 'Reading Log' about every book that they have read. This is checked every Tuesday.

Each child will be given one piece of English and one piece of maths homework every week. This will be explained and given out on a Friday, to be returned the following Friday.

Spellings will be given in the classes.

Merits are given out weekly for things like super work, good effort, being kind or achieving something extra special.

We also have a merit assembly on a Friday morning. Merit certificates are given to children in each class for hard work or effort.

If you have any worries or need to see me please do not hesitate before or after school.

Thank you

Mr Williams.
