Stockwell Reading
Places to find reading resources!
Here at Stockwell we believe that reading is fundamental and it is our aim to encourage and nurture a love for reading for all of our pupils. We encourage children to read at home at least three times a week. A school book and reading record diary will be sent home with each child. But here are some links to some further reading support websites that parents and carers can use.

Golden Reading Points
Here at Stockwell we love to read, and we hope that we encourage and nurture the childrens love of reading too! So this year we are introducing golden reading points. This system works like our house point system we have in place. Each week children will be awarded a golden reading token for every time they have read at home - their reading record must have been signed by an adult for them to get their points.
At the end of every week the class points for each class will be counted. The class with the most points will gain the Stockwell reading trophy to keep in their class for the week. At the end of each half term, the class that have collected the most points can choose a book they would like adding to their class library. Finally, at the end of the school year, the class with the most points will recieve a whole class treat!
